"Tiny Thinis"

"May you live in interesting times" is an old Chinese saying, a curse actually stating that it is "Better to be a dog in times of tranquility than a human in times of chaos." There are interesting times ahead indeed in this scenario, and you will often feel confused by the developments, caught in the melee.

Of course we all known that Pharoah is a god and that we humans cannot fathom the reason the gods have for their actions. In this scenario you must try to find ways of satisfying the wishes of the Pharoah, and he doesn't make it easy for you. For some reason it has been forbidden to store meat in granaries, so you can't have those in your city. For other reasons it is not allowed to have magistrates in your city, any disputes must be settled at Pharaoh's court, or by the local police marshalls. Maybe then it also comes as no surprise that a local army is not an option.

The best policy probably is to go with the flow, if you don't, there is no telling what may happen. At one point Pharaoh sends an army at you, seemingly for no reason at all, maybe you should see it as a warning. Expect the unexpected and you will thrive, try to fight the powers beyond your imagination and you may end up desillusioned, at best.

I recently retired from office and with so much spare time started playing the old games again, to find out that creating new scenarios is much more fun than playing the familiar old ones. Of course I knew that, but forgot it, like so many things about the game. It's surprising how fast it's coming back, with the much appreciated help of the forum!

BTW, if anyone has comments or questions on the scenario, these are more then welcome. I have tested it myself (of course) at hard difficulty, but I didn't have it tested independently and there's always the probability I have missed something. I also gave very hard difficulty a try, ran heavily into debt, and further dismissed the attempt. It should be possible, I guess, with some added effort.

Also tested at very hard and finished in about the same time as at hard, be it with a lot less money. Some micromanagement was needed to stay out of debt, but the mission goals can also be achieved without it, if you know how the game develops and plan ahead. If you consider all that cheating, very hard becomes VERRRRY hard.

The minimap shows the empty canvas you start with. As you can see only part of the already tiny map is accessible for buildings, and a minimap of a completed city could be considered a spoiler.

Enjoy!
