Population and Taxation Numbers
So, how many people can live in a particular house, and how much money do you get from them? Here's the answer:
| Level | Population Capacity | Maximum Annual Taxation (in deben) |
|---|---|---|
| Crude Hut | 5 | 2.5 |
| Sturdy Hut | 7 | 3.5 |
| Meager Shanty | 9 | 4.5 |
| Common Shanty | 11 | 5.5 |
| Rough Cottage | 13 | 13 |
| Ordinary Cottage | 15 | 15 |
| Modest Homestead | 16 | 16 |
| Spacious Homestead | 17 | 17 |
| Modest Apartment | 18 | 27 |
| Spacious Apartment | 19 | 28.5 |
| Common Residence (2x2) | 80 | 120 |
| Spacious Residence | 84 | 126 |
| Elegant Residence | 88 | 176 |
| Fancy Residence | 92 | 184 |
| Common Manor (3x3) | 100 | 500 |
| Spacious Manor | 108 | 594 |
| Elegant Manor | 116 | 696 |
| Stately Manor | 124 | 806 |
| Modest Estate (4x4) | 184 | 1380 |
| Palatial Estate | 200 | 1600 |
As you can clearly see, it really pays to get those housing levels up. If you think that the leap between Spacious Apartment and Common Residence a bit large is, then please remember that the figures for the Spacious Apartment are based on a 1x1 building. If you get a 2x2 Spacious Apartment, then you can multiply the numbers given here by 4. The same goes for all housing between Crude Hut and Spacious Apartment level.
The chaps living in these houses stop working when they find themselves in a Common Manor. That's when the cash really starts arriving :).
