One very specificity of PERWADJYT is to have a name which is impossible to pronounce or remember.
I have always been tempted to play this one but dismissed it for long as it is a clone of HETEP. The interesting characteristics in Perwadjyt are the ones that make it differ from HETEP such as lots of gold, or the fact that wood and papyrus are not for sale. The best settlement for the big pyramid is also a key issue.
My intention is to play it with decent results with the help of Bast (and some bits of Ra, osiris and Ptah), then a version without Bast (I would simply remove her).
I never choose the Ra TC as it brings too litte benefits, I chose Ptah to make money (27,000 in gold every year) and save on papyrus. Without the help of Bast, I would first, like in Baki, use Ptah then, when taxes bring in more money than the gold mines, I would shift to Osiris. Ptah also allows to extract stones faster, but it is not very interesting as the time gained is lost during the delivery.
Once again, in this game all food items are available for import, meaning that you do not need granaries.
An interesting fact is the redundant « contaminated water » event which made me lose 1000 people from time to time without harming my city : it allowed to rejuvenate my population. My city was growing very fast, a limiting factor has been the time for the new settlers to come in. I ensured I never had too many people coming at a go to avoid the sprite limit disaster.

Between the two, I saved 89 months, more or less 7.5 years, this only due to the reallocation of the medium pyramid. It is unusual for me to build a huge pyramid in less than 40 years. Even so, I lost months every year in not being able to select the workcamps fetching the loads. I worked a lot more on stone imports than on stone extraction. I worked badly until the year 18 on my stone delivery, then isolated a line of mine towards a specific ferry, allowing a faster delivery of stones and avoiding to jam the papyrus ferry.
These cities are, as usual, forever running ones. One accident happens regularly, say every 3 years, when one side of a housing block misses a dancer for some months. I managed to set the tax rates at 20% for most of the game, even tried a 21% for a while, that I could stand for a while with a wage of 41, but it could not last two years in a row.
I had the intention to end up selling stones and limestone, but it is not profitable as I would thus lose one sale of linen or copper per year.
Please, for Civilis, note that the recurrent request vanished : I got it once only in the version 2, I got it twice only in the version 1. Fiel2 got it redundantly throughout his game. |
