This second version of Pharaoh - Achievement Records has little to do with the first version. The well over 1,100 lines of code - compared to 260 from the first version made this program much better. Some improvements include a much better user interface.
A new field for events and requests was added. This field is hidden by default. Clicking the appropriate button on the toolbar will make it visible. All data is write-protected, and a user has to click appropriate buttons to add or edit entries.
It has become almost impossible to accidentally lose data. I say almost because there might be a way which has not occurred during my four months testing. Although there is a save button, you will only need it to make sure everything's saved in case of a power outage. All actions will first save new data before they are executed.
There is a comparatively large help file with walkthroughs for all standard missions. Other missions will be added soon.
The backup utility is also very handy. With this, you can back up your database to any of the detected drives on your machine.
The program is very simple to use, but in case you come across problems, please look in the help file. If you can't find info on your problem, please mail me. It would also be nice if some of your guys could contribute or suggest improvements or additions.
Unfortunately, the database from the first version is not compatible with the database of this version. However, you can manually import your tables from the Access database. But please back it up before you mess with this unless you know exactly what you're doing. You don't need to uninstall the previous version if you are not prompted to do so (depends on the operating system).
By the next version, I will have solved the compatibility issue. This version is more than three times larger than the first one, and I hope that the next version will be three times larger than this one with some participation from you. More info on how you can participate is in the help file.
