***The Tale Of Ramesses***
By Pebble
------^^^Chapter IV - The Pyramids of Giza^^^-------
Cancellor, It is time to build something extraordinary. Using your experience in Giza conducted in the earlier years, the Pharaoh will now give you great liberty to build monuments which allign with the stars, and will cast a Golden age upon Earth and your People. In Recent years however, natural calamities have cut back on the flooding of the Nile so the usually food production all over the known world has been Halved. People are literally starving to death.
Official Scribes in Py-Ramesses estimate that Salaries will rise in the near future because of food shortages. This will give you something to think about while you are busy building Monuments and the high standard city that has come to have been expected from you.
This is part of a custom 7 level campaign built and imagined by me. It has no Historical accuracy whatsoever, rather it started 2.5 years ago while i was reading a Novel on Ramesses and his struggle with the Hittite Kingdom(modern day Turkey). I started developing scenario 6, then went on to 1, 2, 4, 3, 5, and finally level 7 the Kigdom of Ra. As always i apreciate any bugs or fixings that you might find to help me ever improve this long term project of mine, and i hope you enjoy playing through the story as i have enjoyed creating, testing, and playing them.
I tried to balance out and have virtually every aspect present in pharaoh, from land and sea commerce, land and sea battles, cultural rates, kigdom and monument rates, prosperity, food challanges, events, famine, requests, threats, opening/closing routes, hidden routes, high housing challanges and space/map balance, survival, time limit, and also one element i tried to implement in chapter 1, and with minor importance in chapter 7, which i call trade expo. Basically you can import goods for less, and re-export them for more, going in and out of debt with high trade routes opening cost.
You will find all kinds of food or materials at one point or the other in the campaign. All maps have been tested on normal. Scenario 7 was a particulary big challange that off-set this problem for more than a year: i wanted to have a land trade route, the longest possible on immense map, while having sea routes cut across the map

Hi Burt77 :)
I do not have Pharaoh installed at the moment on this computer; However I remember encountering this exact situation, I wanted to have a culture rate for this scenario of 100 or at least 90, but then I thought if it is, people who have only the original game and not Cleopatra installed cannot play it; as far as I know, culture 70 can be archieved by having every other entertainment and culture and sanitary services at a "good" advisor statis, so I settled for 70, which I tested at the time, but I play and test all my scenarios on normal difficulty: I think the only way you will be able to complete it is to switch your difficulty rating to normal for this one. Hope that works; Also, I dunno if you played the other ones, But the Port on the Delta, number 6, is my favourite; in any case I hope you are enjoying the story of Ramesses :) I can' t remember the name of the book/novel that inspired me to start this series, but it was very exciting indeed; in any case, thank you for the post Burt :) |
