The Tale Of Ramesses

Chapter I - The Oasis of Dunqul

The old Wise leader of Dunqul has passed away and the Elders have decided to replace you as the guide of their community. Aldo young and inexperienced, you show promising talent, have demonstrated strong leader and community guiding capabilities. Once you are in office, you plan and plot a scheme that you think you can pull off, to bring richness and wealth to your people.
Here, in the corner of the desert to the south, lie the productive cities of Central africa: Paint, lamps, marble, cloth and Luxury goods are produced and traded. To the north, lie the rich cities on the Nile and the Kingdom of Egypt; Traditionally, these goods have been bartered through the Nile and sea trade, but you see a scheme of importing a number of these products and reselling them to the enriched Egyptian society that is more than willing to pay high prices to enjoy the comforts of everyday life and live in style. Protect your southern border from small bands of Desert raiders and grow food to export it until you can to the Capital of Egypt. Convince the people of the Oasis that you can bring richness and wellbeing to your community.
The pharaoh pays little personal attention to the way of life in the desert, apart from buying food when he needs and protecting his people from foreign enemies. Maybe this
will give you a chance to be noticed and raise your standings in your Soul Guided right as one of the rulers of the Kingdome of Ra.

.This scenario is all about import/export and is quite unorthodox. Other than that, it may be jumped as a tutorial would be as it provides little to no challange to the savy Pharaoh player.

This is part of a custom 7 level campaign built and imagined by me. It has no Historical accuracy whatsoever, rather it started 2.5 years ago while i was reading a Novel on Ramesses and his struggle with the Hittite Kingdom(modern day Turkey). I started developing scenario 6, then went on to 1, 2, 4, 3, 5, and finally level 7 the Kigdom of Ra. As always i apreciate any bugs or fixings that you might find to help me ever improve this long term project of mine, and i hope you enjoy playing through the story as i have enjoyed creating, testing, and playing them.
I tried to balance out and have virtually every aspect present in pharaoh, from land and sea commerce, land and sea battles, cultural rates, kigdom and monument rates, prosperity, food challanges, events, famine, requests, threats, opening/closing routes, hidden routes, high housing challanges and space/map balance, survival, time limit, and also one element i tried to implement in chapter 1, and with minor importance in chapter 7, which i call trade expo. Basically you can import goods for less, and re-export them for more, going in and out of debt with high trade routes opening cost.
You will find all kinds of food or materials at one point or the other in the campaign. All maps have been tested on normal. Scenario 7 was a particulary big challange that off-set this problem for more than a year: i wanted to have a land trade route, the longest possible on immense map, while having sea routes cut across the map

Pebble444, thank you for this contribution to Pharaoh Heaven. I saw you submitted this exact same scenario twice, once under Pharaoh Scenarios and again under Cleopatra Scenarios. I assumed it belongs under Cleopatra Scenarios, so that was the one I approved. If this truly belongs under Pharaoh Scenarios, let me know.

hello Hi Gweilo2 yes, thank you for rectifying that, I had in fact submitted it to the wrong section first;
I' m just gonna go ahead and submit the rest of the scenarios for the campaign of Ramesses.
They should be in this order:
Chapter I - The Oasis of Dunqul
Chapter II - Pyramid Trails
Chapter III - The Fortress of Quadesh
Chapter IV - The Pyramids of Giza
Chapter V - Egyptian Outpost
Chapter VI – PyRamesses
Chapter VII - The Kingdom of Ra

Hope Burt might swing around if he still plays pharaoh to see what he thinks

blubb Wanted to give this a try, everything worked for a while, but at some point (~20 years in) there's no more game meat to hunt (which is needed as there's no other source for a second type of food). Restarting and reloading won't do anything. Is this a known bug of the game in general?

Played the scenario again; same thing happens to me, after about 18 or so years the game disappears. Not sure for what reason this is, i usually use bird-hunting in most of my scenario instead of the antilope; thought of changing it but i don' t really see how it fits in any way in this oasis.
I added another game hunting point, changed the first one, and to further alleviate the problem, added a trade route that opens up after 18 years selling salad. However, unfortunately, the only way you can complete that mission now is to replay it with the updated version, as there is no way to have any edits show up once you started playing and saved a game etc.

In any case, thank you for letting me know :)
At least further players who play this scenario will now have the opportunity to complete it. Nothing more annoying really than a bug that makes it impossible to complete a scenario;
