"The Insane Pharaoh"
Well esteemed Royal Nomarch, it is my duty to inform you that Our God and King, Pharaoh Pepi II, has decided that he would like to spend the fall of his life in the north east of his vast empire, where He will spend most of His time reading and playing senet. In twenty six years from now, His Esteemed Royal Holyness Pepi II will be found travelling to Gaza, which is currently mostly uninhabited, but surely we can change that in the long time Our Dearly Beloved King God plans ahead. Or, more precisely, you will be changing that.
Our Eternal Son Of Ra wishes for you to build him a prosperous city with no less than 7000 inhabitants, a rich cultural environment with many libraries and houses of worship, and at least one palatial estate. He has also ordered for a large mastaba to be built, which will serve as his final resting place, as well as a mausoleum, that is to be unmatched in splendor and beauty.
Another matter, that I am more reluctant to inform you of, is the current mental clouds Our Highest Of The Heavens And Earth seems to experience. I am not a bazaar trader, so I won't degrade myself and Pharaoh by saying he has gone insane, like some bazaar traders do, but as stated, do not be surprised if Pharaoh sends some rather odd requests while you construct his fair city. I can keep Him within boundaries most of the time, but sometimes...
Anyway, the time for you to truly worry about Pharaoh's whims is 26 years from now. In the meantime, I hope you will find home at Gaza, and I suggest you get started on building Pharaohs final home straight away.
Sincerely, Vizier Nebhotep
----------------------------------------------------
At Gaza, you will be worshipping Ra (Patron God), Osiris and Seth. Pharaoh will send you odd requests, but as long as you worship Ra enough it's quite safe to ignore them. Be warned that the price of wood -wood being your main source of income- will fall over time. |
