A new Pharaoh has taken the throne of Egypt! And it's a time of high praise as well, for Egyptians have conquered our distant city of Byblos, who has supplied us with rich wood and copper for years.

But an alarming discovery was made when we conquered Byblos! A new enemy, the Hitittes, have washed over much of Asia and some say their empire rivals ours in size! They are sure to covet Byblos for its riches and it's up to you, the loyal Nomarch dispatched here, to defend Byblos at all costs from this foe.

You will not be left in peace from the Kingdom here. The Pharaoh's military governors are leading attacks across much of the country and you will be required to dispatch troops or even goods to defend these cities.

Don't forget that Large Obelisk to remind Byblos' citizens who they are loyal to!

All in all a very balanced and well designed mission. Although the difficulty is not as high as indicated in the map description. With gems, copper, wood and gold on the map it pretty hard not to drown in your own wealth. ;)

I think the reason I labelled this hard is due to the very high population requirement needed, the constant distant battles (which I'm gonna fix, they are far too frequent) and the small space needed to build a large city, due to arid climes. Glad you enjoyed it! :D

good trading commodities, fishing, importing food, goods, once you hit 4000 people theres no more way to give work to people, so i had to create tons of work camp. (despite having 80% non working houses);
Requests are always the same and become boring after a while; Invasion occured twice. Was expecting more battles;

Balance: 3/5
Money is too abundant and not a challange; collecting all recources too; i would have liked to see a balance beetwen woodcutting and gold mining; Make it so that you have to cut trees to get to 2nd and 3rd gold depots. since there is too much wood you can do both, i feel like making them one or the other would have solved the balance issue;

Creativity: 3/5
Not many options for me; thats not the point of this scenario anyway

map design: 5/5
I like the map layout and the other cities; very nice

Instructions: 5/5

Kingdom level would be nice at 90

I was expecting more after what ratings where given; so i probably got my hopes up; My thoughts are that this scenario is well put together overall; overall i give it 3.8/5
The idea is very nice; Just not enough detail attention for me;

Hey, thanks for the review @Pebble444.

As to the amount of wood, that is meant to be historical. Byblos was always known for huge verdant forests, just like in the campaign mission itself, so the excessive trees were meant for realism purposes (it would be strange to be in Lebanon and have few trees).

As for balance, I agree it's a bit unbalanced. I tried to mimic the campaign mission of Byblos, which has the same stuff, but less trading. I no longer play Pharaoh or develop maps for it, but I may come back to fix some of the balance and events issues that have been mention by others. :)

Thanks for the review, once again! :)
